Malvern Gets A New Market
I always get a certain extra level of satisfaction from being in at the beginning of a new project, and then seeing it grow.
I really hope that last Saturday (16thApril) was one of those occasions. The venue was the Malvern Cube (click the link to their website), and the event was the first of what is planned to be a weekly Saturday Market, held indoors in this superb facility, it really deserves to succeed.
It was a healthy turnout, organisers Alison & Jon are to be congratulated for their hard work, both in the lead up, and on the day itself. The effort they put in ensured it was a vibrant but relaxed atmosphere to both work, and shop in.
The stalls offered a wide selection of produce, from pickled magnolia buds, (similar to pickled ginger I’m told) and wild garlic pesto, to confectionary and felt hats & slippers, plus of course the usual selection of “Worcestershire’s most famous” meat products.
The enjoyable feel of the day was helped along by some tasteful background vibes from a jazz trumpeter playing along to some well-known backing tracks.
The market will run every Saturday from 10am until 2pm, with the wonderful on site café serving delicious snacks & refreshments, both hot and cold the whole time.
We are planning to be part of this fantastic venture for the foreseeable future, and we look forward to meeting new friends and old in these convivial surroundings.
